Create sustainable value with us.
Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH is a 100 percent family-owned company, headquartered in Duisburg since its foundation in 1756. It manages a portfolio of independent businesses with the goal to create value over the long term, for generations.
Haniel is going through major changes, with a newly defined long term strategy based on two pillars
- A portfolio of independent businesses, managed with a long term objectives to create value for generations. This means portfolio companies are a basis to serve dividend for the shareholders but have to be actively managed in order to generate long term returns. Short term, the portfolio will need some arbitrage and clarifications, before a new active investment strategy will be determined to manage and expand this portfolio. Currently, the Haniel portfolio comprises ten portfolio companies: BauWatch, BekaertDeslee, CWS Clean Room, CWS Fire Safety, CWS Hygiene, CWS WorkWear, EMMA, Kinderzimmer, ROVEMA and TAKKT. Additionally, Haniel is one of the anchor shareholders of CECONOMY.
- A diversified investment arm, under constitution. This newly created investment vehicle will be based on the historical Growth+ portfolio, a diversified portfolio of minority stakes in start ups as well as some investments in funds. Longer term, the objective is to have an equivalent share of the assets value between the two legs of Haniel
