Strategic portfolio composition
We are creating value for generations. This ambition shapes the way we structure and manage our portfolio. Our entrepreneurial focus is on majority stakes in leading European providers within the business services sector. Additionally, Haniel holds a diversified portfolio of investments across other high-growth industries and regions.
Transformation out of tradition
Entrepreneurial & farsighted
Haniel has over 265 years of experience in transformation. Throughout our history, we have always courageously adapted our strategy and portfolio to new conditions. We continue to do so today. As a long-term, family-owned investor, we serve as both a capital provider and a sparring partner for our portfolio companies—supporting them in developing new business models and entering new markets. We pursue ambitious goals: to achieve economic success while driving ecological and social progress.

How we create value
BekaertDeslee
Driving international expansion
Haniel acquired the Belgian company Bekaert Textiles in 2015 and supported the 2016 merger with DesleeClama, forming BekaertDeslee. Since then, Haniel has advanced the company's international expansion, both organically and inorganically. BekaertDeslee has globally extended its manufacturing capacity with new facilities and expansions in Turkey, Brazil and China, conducted various bolt-on acquisitions and recently entered the Indian market. Steps that have made our portfolio company the undisputed global leader in fabrics for the mattress industry.

BauWatch
Promoting product innovation
BauWatch, Europe's leading provider of mobile video surveillance for construction sites, critical infrastructure, solar and wind parks and other properties worth protecting, has been part of the Haniel portfolio since 2021. The company is setting new standards in the security industry with its innovative products and services. One highlight is the BauWatch Scout, a compact, modular and solar-powered solution that perfectly suits the targeted monitoring of valuable materials or equipment in environments that demand adaptability. Moreover – in the age of sustainability – the BauWatch Solar has developed from a former niche product for properties without a power connection into a real customer favorite. The established BauWatch GreenLight solution and the MyBauWatch app are meanwhile also being continuously optimized to meet the highest customer demands.
CWS Fire Safety
Accelerating inorganic growth
CWS Fire Safety is a market leader in preventive fire safety and electronic security, active in Germany and the Netherlands. Haniel created the company under the CWS umbrella in 2016 through a buy & build strategy. With the combination of craftsmanship from every single acquisition and the power of the larger platform, CWS Fire Safety is uniquely positioned to unleash the potential for further profitable growth. Today, the company offers a comprehensive portfolio of products and services, expert networks for more complex trades, its own training center for employees and an internal process system to ensure high quality throughout.
