Moody’s raises Haniel's rating to investment grade (from Ba1 to Baa3)

Duisburg, 25 April 2018. Moody's Investors Services (Moody's) today raised the long-term issuer rating of the family-equity company Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH (Haniel) from Ba1 (positive outlook) to Baa3 (stable outlook). Now all three assigned rating agencies assess Haniel as investment grade.

The upgrade is supported by the well-balanced mix in Haniel's portfolio especially regarding cyclicality and the low leverage of the underlying investments.

Moreover, the rating upgrade reflects the prolonged track record of conservative financial policies, low market value gearing and a solid interest cover.
