Heiko Karschti named new CFO at CWS-boco

Management Board thanks Dr Ulrich David

Duisburg, 07 December 2017. Heiko Karschti will be joining CWS-boco International with effect from 1st January 2018 as new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With this step, he will be taking over from Dr Ulrich David, who is leaving the company at the end of 2017 of his own accord.

In Heiko Karschti (50) we see an old acquaintance re-joining the ranks of the Haniel Group: He began his career here in 1994 after completing his degree in economics. After roles at Haniel Rohr- und Kanalservice GmbH and in the Controlling department of the Holding Company, he transferred to Haniel Bauindustrie GmbH in spring 2000 (Xella as of 2001). He accepted the position of director of the sand-lime bricks division in 2001 and, after successfully taking on a variety of different managerial roles, was promoted to CFO of the Xella Group in 2007, where he remained until 2015. "In Heiko Karschti, we have managed to win back a former colleague with international experience who is set to make a great contribution to the further development of CWS-boco in Europe," said Thomas Schmidt, CEO of CWS-boco and the Haniel Management Board.

Karschti will be taking over the reins from the previous CFO, Dr Ulrich David, who started in the Haniel Holding Company in January 2003 and transferred to the CWS-boco business division at the beginning of 2007. He held the position of Commercial Director of CWS-boco Deutschland from 2011 until the beginning of 2015 and has been CFO of CWS-boco International since March 2015.

"We respect his personal decision, we are understandably sad to lose such a valued colleague as Dr David," said Dr Florian Funk, Haniel CFO. "During a critical time, he employed his extensive professional expertise as CFO and his personal warmth to win over the colleagues and employees for the restructuring of the CWS-boco Group and drive forward its profitability and growth. We would like to thank Dr David for his many years of professional and loyal work in the Haniel Group and wish him all the very best and every success for his personal and professional future."
