S&P raises Haniel's rating to investment grade (from BB+/B to BBB-/A-3)

Duisburg, 29 April 2016. Standard & Poor's Rating Services (S&P) today raised the long- and short-term corporate credit rating of the family equity company Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH from BB+/B (positive outlook) to BBB-/A-3 (stable outlook). Therewith, S&P assesses Haniel with an investment grade rating, again.

The upgrade is a consequence of Haniel's proven conservative long-term financial policy, which is characterised by a moderate net financial debt target of EUR 1 billion, coupled with a sound long-term financing structure. Moreover, the rating upgrade reflects a positive appraisal of Haniel's prudent investment policy for financial assets and cautious investment approach for strategic acquisitions.
