Haniel would also like to open up the Chinese market with the help of local talent. Therefore, Haniel has promoted excellence in education locally since May 2007 – with the Haniel Group Chair for Entrepreneurship and Marketing at Tongji University in Shanghai. Its teaching and project programmes enable students to acquire management know-how and to learn how to put it to practical use – thus preparing themselves for their future professional career in a targeted fashion. Teaching at the Haniel Group Chair is carried out by high-ranking academics as well as by seasoned experts with practical experience. Once a year, the Haniel Day takes place. It offers students the opportunity to meet with staff from China and Europe.
The Chair collaborates with several large global firms (including Haniel and the METRO Group), renowned international universities (University of St. Gallen, TU Berlin, ETH Zurich), and experts from a variety of disciplines. Besides knowledge sharing and research activities, the Chair regularly offers students opportunities to take part in practical projects in cooperation with large international firms.
