Haniel is popular with young talent: The “German Graduates Barometer for 2008” named the Group as one of the top 100 employers in the category “Business Edition”. The ranking is based on results from a Germany-wide questionnaire of 18,000 economics and engineering students. It was carried out by the trendence Institute, a Berlin research and consultancy company. Furthermore, Haniel received the certification of “Fair Company” in 2008 from “Junge Karriere”, the “Handelsblatt” magazine for starting a career. It guarantees fair, paid internships and therefore real opportunities for launching a career.
Internationally recognised
The divisions carry out exceptional HR work in many areas. In 2009, Celesio’s chain of pharmacies, Unicarepharmacy, won the “Great Place to Work Award” as best Irish employer with 500 to 1,000 employees for the second time. Beyond that, Unicarepharmacy swept the Retail Excellence Ireland Award for Best Employer 2009. Celesio's Irish subsidiary is the first company ever to win both prestigious awards in the same year. In Great Britain, Lloyds Pharmacy was one of five companies in the final selection for employer of the year 2007 at the “People in Retail Awards”. Since 2005, the British Celesio chain of pharmacies has held the internationally recognised seal of quality “Investors in People”, which certifies their exemplary commitment to employees. The division CWS-boco belongs to “Investors in People” in the Netherlands.

Two years later, the Corporate Division ELG was nominated for the prize. TAKKT’s division KAISER + KRAFT EUROPA received the title “Versender des Jahres” in 2008 – the highest award for German mail order companies.
