China is one of the most important growth markets for Haniel. The Group therefore opened the Shanghai Representative Office in October 2007. It is located on the 37th floor of the Bund Center, one of the most famous buildings in the city. The Haniel Holding Company and the CWS-boco and ELG Corporate Divisions work in close collaboration on site building up their presence in the country.
Opening up the market together
While the Corporate Divisions work solely on operating business in China, employees of the Haniel Holding Company undertake a wide array of tasks. For example, they carry out market analyses, support investors and take on new employees. In so doing, they cooperate with the Haniel Group Chair for Entrepreneurship and Marketing at Tongji University in Shanghai. This offers various opportunities, including internships for dedicated students.
